The apartment is on the first floor. Didn't actually get into it in this dream, but I have been there before so knew about the sunken living room, the windows that lead from one room into another, the rain running through the ceilings and down the walls, the stairways and levels and rooms that go on forever. The garden courtyard that appears in the middle of the apartment and the elaborate furniture. The building residents are mostly old and a very diverse bunch of characters from street people to patrician looking city-dwellers and immigrants from Eastern Europe of long ago. My grandparent's ages but still alive. They were gathered at the mailboxes. Grey and I had entered the building through the back gates. We didn't have a key but someone was entering and we entered with him. We walked through the back garden, overgrown lushly green with an old stone fountain. Then we entered the back door of the building. This one was not locked. Our apartment door is under the back stairwell, but we didn't go in. We proceeded to the left side of the hallway, where the tenants were clustered around the mailboxes.
